With a beautiful view surrounding us as we worked, this is one of our favorite deck staining projects that we have worked on.

The home owner has a beautiful home on a breath-taking lot over looking Fort Loudon Lake. The deck wraps around the entire home facing the water. The view is great but the weather on the lake is harsh and constant. I suggested using Sikkens two coat process to give the wood superior protection as well as a hard wood floor like finish.

We began by pressure cleaning the wood followed by twenty four hours of drying time. We then followed with five days and sixteen gallons of brushing, with a full day of drying time between coats. The finished look was perfect and matched the color of the hardwood flooring on the inside of the house,giving it a continuous look and a smooth appearance. The color was Cedar, and it really looked great. So much so, that I really wish I had used that color on my own deck! Oh well, maybe next time.
